Randy Yang Gao

About

Randy Yang Gao is a doctoral candidate in Marketing at the Stern School of Business, New York University. His research focuses on consumer judgment and decision-making, with a particular interest in how consumers form valuation judgments and the behavioral aspects of pricing. He has explored the differences between value elicitation methods, the effect of uncertainty on willingness-to-pay, and the comparative attractiveness of low-cost subscription trials (e.g., $0.99) versus free trials.

Prior to joining the PhD program, he received a master’s degree in social sciences from the University of Chicago and a bachelor’s degree in English from Fudan University.
